Amaran starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead is an upcoming biographical war action film, that is based on the late Indian army officer Mukund "Maddy" Varadarajan. The movie produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, and Sony Pictures, is an adaptated from Chapter 7 - 'I Got Hit. I Can't Believe It' of the book India's Most Fearless - True Stories of Modern Military Heroes, written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
Amaran has screenplay, direction by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Rangoon (2017) fame, and latest update on this film is that its release date has been postponed. Amaran is scheduled to release in September 2024, and Amaran's release date was expected to be September 27, 2024. Now, Amaran has been postponed to October 2024, and an official announcement on the new release date/plans is awaited.

Titled after the 1992 Karthik- K. Rajeshwar film, Amaran also stars Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca Varghese - the surviving wife of Mukund V, Bhuvan Arora as Sepoy Vikram Singh who lost his life alongside Mukund, Shyam Mohan as Indhu's brother, among others. The movie has CH Sai for cinematography, GV Prakash Kumar for music, Anbariv for stunts, R. Kalaivanan for edits.
