Vijay starrer Varisu is a family action drama that released in theaters on January 11, 2023 and on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform on February 22, 2023. Outside India, the movie also made its digital premiere on the Simply South OTT platform. Varisu written and directed by Vamshi Paidipally has Thaman for music, and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Telugu actor Srikanth, Jayasudha, Prabhu, Sangeetha Krish among others.

Gowtam SSC itself is a rehash of Arunprasad’s own Thammudu which was inspired by Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar which in turn was inspired by Breaking Away. Instead of using the same sports backdrop, Arun Prasad used an automobile mechanic backdrop.
